The longer you’ve been self-employed, the better. If you have two years of accounts, the number of lenders would increase; three years is even better. Most lenders insist accounts are prepared by a chartered or certified accountant.
As part of your proof of affordability that you can meet your monthly payments, you would require your Self Assessments and/or your accounts as support for your mortgage application.
